Advanced Life Support (ALS) Course

Sri Lankan Society of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine (SSCCEM) is happy to announce the launching of an Advanced Life Support (ALS) course of International standard in Sri Lanka.
The Advance Life Support Course is an internationally recognized training course for doctors and nurses which aims to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to assess and manage patients who are seriously ill. This will be a structured module being practiced in developed countries.
The objective is to provide the knowledge and skills to Consultants and Medical Officers on the structured approach of assessing and managing emergencies. Course will be based on the Australian ALS module.  

The Faculty consist of Dr Gamini Wijeratne, Consultant Anesthetist, ALS Director of the Ipswich Hospital, West Moreton Health Service District, Queensland Government, Australia and local resource persons.  

Only 16 participants would be taken for the course.
SSCCEM would like to invite 8 Critical Care Msdicine Diploma holders, 4 Physicians and 4  Anaesthetists for the course.

Course Fee – Rs3,500/=

Please contact Secratary of SSCCEM Dr Harendra Navadeva Coorey, for registration. The participants will be selected on the basis of first come first severed basis.
Once the manual is ready you will b e notofied to collect the manual with the pre-course MCQ and the candidate’s information letter.
Those who wish to join this heavily subsidised course should take an undertaking that they would contribute to teach at least 3 out of 4 courses a year in the future. These will be organised by SSCCEM for doctors and nurses in the country. This will indirectly contribute to the improvement of the care given to the ill patients.
